Hello Everyone,
This coming summer my church is traveling for ten days to the small island of Grenada in order to minister alongside Raise Praise Ministries (www.raisepraiseministries.com). Grenada is an island in the eastern Caribbean, just north of Venezuela, and was the victim of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, which caused damage to 90% of the homes on the island. Also known as “The Spice Isle”, Grenada’s nutmeg industry and main economy has never recovered since the hurricane wiped out many of the trees. Most of the people live in villages and relative poverty, but they are a kind and open people, willing to hear about the Lord and talk about eternal things. It is possible to make a big impact in a short time in Grenada, because there are SO MANY open doors to serve the people and share a message of hope.
One of the ways that our church will be serving the Grenadians is through helping with the construction of a new church building. The foundation has been poured over the past two years, and the walls are ready to be built. This young church is meeting in homes right now and will be blessed to have a place to grow.
Along with that, the government of Grenada has allowed Raise Praise Ministries to share the gospel freely in the schools. Our team will be leading worship, preaching and sharing the gospel in their public assemblies. Many students have come to believe in Jesus in this way!
Also, the villages are swarming with children playing in the streets, occupying their time however they please. This gives us the opportunity to offer these kids fun after-school activities where we will be interacting with them, doing crafts and sports and talking about Jesus.
It would be a blessing to me if you would prayerfully consider making a donation toward this great adventure.
I have set up an Amazon Associates account, and any money raised through it will go towards the trip and construction materials. How it works is when someone buys anything from Amazon.com via my website, I will get a small percentage of the purchase.
You can access it from Amazon.com or search from the box on the right.
You can also donate directly via the paypal button below.
Thanks.
